Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Route Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks as needed. You will complete routine rounds, document observations, and communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors while delivering a people-first experience. Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, residents, and/or visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, common areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions, reporting hazards, maintenance issues, and/or suspicious behavior according to post orders.
  • Complete required reports such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity summaries, using approved systems and following site-specific reporting requirements.
