About The Position

Provides security for personnel, real property, and equipment.
Investigates and documents crimes/incidents, documents and preserves evidence, may have to testify in court as part of job.

Requirements

• Skill in use of first aid procedures
• Ability to write reports containing technical information
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork
• Ability to gather and organize legal evidence
• Skill in completing criminal investigations
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, methods and university policies.
• 2 year degree preferred but not required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Possession of a valid Kentucky operator’s license.
• Ability to continuously stand or walk.
• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and life frequently.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Patrol university property in a vehicle, on foot or bicycle to provide security
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Assist Patrol Officer with scheduling and approving reports.
• Perform campus patrol, victim/witness assistance or as crime prevention officer.
• May provide first aid services until medical assistance arrives.
• Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
• Complete reports as necessary on fire alarms, incidents, thefts, etc.
