About The Position

As a Security Officer – Education in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. You will interact with students, staff, and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and screen individuals entering the location, verifying identification as required by site-specific policies.
Provide customer service by assisting students, staff, and visitors with inquiries and directions.
Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies to help maintain a secure environment.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Monitor access points to help control entry and exit from the location.
Report and document any unusual activity or incidents according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
Collaborate with campus staff and/or emergency personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.
