About The Position

As a Security Officer - Power Plant Gatehouse in El Paso, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a critical utilities location where you will help manage access control by verifying badges and visitors, monitoring entry points, and documenting activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help deter incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication. Requirements

Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal and location policies for access control, identification checks, credential verification, and visitor registration.
Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobby access points, including screening vehicles and deliveries, issuing temporary badges, and directing traffic flow as needed.
Monitor access control systems, alarms, and CCTV where assigned, documenting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, facility alarms, and utility infrastructure disruptions per post orders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas such as entrances, fenced perimeter, parking lots, and critical utility infrastructure, completing required reports and helping to deter unauthorized access.
