As an unarmed patrol officer at an educational location, you will monitor assigned areas and conduct routine foot patrols to help maintain a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will support access control and badge processes, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to requests with clear communication and strong customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and contacting campus resources and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, residence hall exteriors, parking areas, walkways, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual activity, unauthorized persons, and/or policy violations, and help to deter issues through visible presence and timely reporting.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and maintenance concerns in written logs and reports, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
