As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with students, staff, and visitors, support access control and badge processes as needed, and report concerns with clear communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 or more years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to campus faculty, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, alarms, and access issues, and coordinate with campus partners as directed.
  • Monitor access points and check identification and/or visitor credentials as required by post orders, directing individuals to appropriate campus resources.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
