As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks. You will respond to concerns, assist students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter routes, monitoring for unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations that could impact operations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and/or facility issues, and coordinate with campus partners and public responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify identification and/or authorization when required, assist with visitor direction, and help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Complete shift documentation including incident reports, patrol logs, and/or activity summaries, and communicate relevant information during post handoff and through established reporting channels.
