As a Front Desk Security Officer at an education location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while managing access, checking credentials, answering questions, and logging security-related activity. You will monitor lobby areas, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with campus partners to help support a respectful environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at an academic location, including greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the front desk.
  • Control access by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and vendor logs, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate destinations.
  • Monitor front desk activity and available systems such as cameras, alarms, and/or access control to help to deter unauthorized entry and to identify unusual conditions for prompt follow-up.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Complete incident reports and daily activity logs, communicate clearly with Allied Universal supervision and site contacts, and support emergency response activities as directed by post orders.
