As a Security Officer - Full Time - Mornings in Rockford, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will spend much of your shift driving and patrolling assigned areas, staying highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and support customers and associates with clear communication and a service-first approach. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor, entrances, loading areas, and perimeter, with working conditions varying by assignment.
- Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations, and communicate updates to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when requested.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation using required reporting tools and site protocols.
