About The Position
Prairie Meadows is seeking a Security Officer to contribute to a remarkable guest experience by providing a safe environment. The role involves protecting guests and employees at Iowa’s No. 1 entertainment destination from unlawful or suspicious acts and anticipated threats.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
- Must meet company insurance requirements.
- Must be able to read and write routine reports and other correspondence.
- Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests and employees.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous military, security, or education in these fields desired with two or more year’s related experience and/or training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining security over assigned areas by observing guests and watching for any unlawful or suspicious acts.
- Safeguarding casino assets and protecting the company, guests, and employees from unknown and anticipated threats.
- Checking credentials and IDs at access points.
- Receiving and responding quickly to phone and radio calls.
- Completing reports for all incidents.
- Surveying outdoor areas near the racetrack to ensure that guests do not enter restricted areas.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
