Job Description As a Security Officer - Full Time - Mornings in Rockford, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a busy retail location, where you will perform routine patrols and a primarily driving post to help monitor assigned areas and help deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible, support guests and staff with outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly while working with a team that values being agile, reliable, innovative, and acting with integrity.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a busy retail location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with store personnel, visitors, and/or local responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
Monitor customer and employee traffic, observe for suspicious behavior, and document security-related incidents, hazards, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
Support asset protection efforts by helping to control access to restricted areas, assisting with trespass issues, and/or providing visible presence during opening, closing, and peak shopping periods.
