About The Position

As a Security Officer - Full Time Afternoons in Grandville, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support guests, tenants, and team members with clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of common areas, corridors, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, disturbances, lost children, and/or property issues while coordinating with local emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions, assist with crowd control during peak shopping hours and/or special events, and support store associates and/or property management with security-related requests.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to site leadership, and use required radio and/or technology systems to relay information in a timely manner.
