About The Position

Position Summary: Provide for the safety and security of guests, employees and property by patrolling and observing hotel, casino, and outdoor areas of the property. Escort company assets to ensure the integrity of all Casino Operations are safe & secure. Assist in providing a safe environment for the casino patrons and employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • C.L.E.E.T. certification preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
  • Previous Security Officer experience preferred.
  • Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information.
  • Ability to perform in crisis and work under pressure without loss of composure.
  • Ability to deal with diversity.
  • Understand and comply with all Company and Departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Ability to adequately control Radio Communications, Computer Logs, Key Control, Written Notes, and Telephone duties.
  • Good telephone skills needed.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer.
  • Able to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone.
  • Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly.
  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs/ladders, work in small spaces, walk, reach and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Requires occasional heavy physical work; pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to elements, such as dirt dust, fumes, smoke, flashing lights and loud noises.

Nice To Haves

  • C.L.E.E.T. certification preferred.
  • Previous Security Officer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guards and monitors premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence or rules and safety violations.
  • Performs fire prevention, safety and maintenance tasks and parking/traffic enforcement.
  • Greets incoming guests and tenants, provides information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.
  • Responds to alarms and emergency situations.
  • Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
  • Provides escorts for casino property when being transported from one location to another.
  • Provides crowd control and assists local law enforcement agencies in the event of emergency situations.
  • Provides escort for casino personnel when needed.
  • Answers phones, monitors radios and data entry.
  • Complies with and adheres to all the department's performance, conduct and attendance standards.
  • Escorts and/or assists guests, vendors or other visitors while on property as needed.
  • Assists with emergency medical situations that may occur.
  • Maintains a cohesive work environment through teamwork within the department as well as with every department within the Casino.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
