About The Position

Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health is seeking a vigilant, responsible, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for everyone within our facility. Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes. Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, and report unsafe acts or conditions. Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts follow-up investigations, and writes incident reports. Log all activities in a daily log to record events accurately; complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes when dispatching security officers, and know the hospital campus to ensure those dispatched are sent to the right location.

Requirements

  • High School / GED required.
  • Six (6) months of experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement, or military service required.
  • One (1) year of experience as asecurity officer required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) within 90 Days required.
  • CA Security Guard License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Health Care Security Officer preferred.
