As an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies for a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to the appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, observing for unusual activity and reporting concerns.
  • Help to control access by monitoring entrances, verifying authorization as directed, maintaining visitor logs when required, and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
  • Complete detailed security-related documentation, including patrol activity logs, incident reports, and shift pass-down information, and communicate observations to supervisors and/or site representatives.
