Job Description As a Security Officer - Ingress Inspection in Indianapolis, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor key checkpoints, conduct screening activities, and support access control to help reduce security-related incidents. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and document observations using site tools and technology. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the client by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and contractors entering the facility using site-approved methods such as magnetometer walkthroughs, handheld wands, and/or bag and package inspections.
  • Verify identification and access authorization, issue and/or collect visitor credentials, and maintain screening and entry logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity through the established chain of communication.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by monitoring entry points for delivery drivers and yard traffic, checking documentation as required, and coordinating with site contacts to help to deter unauthorized access.
