About The Position

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds who are proactive, reliable, and eager to learn. We are seeking a Security Officer to support the safety and security of our Johnston, IA site. This role works the overnight shift (12 AM to 8:00 AM), including weekends , and includes a $1.50/hour shift differential and is onsite. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and walk/stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and navigate stairs safely
• Willingness to complete security training and obtain/maintain First Aid & CPR certification
• Availability to work the evening shift, with flexibility for future shift changes
• Knowledge of security and public safety practices
• Experience with surveillance systems and report writing
• Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Security, military, law enforcement, EMS, or corrections experience
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Training or coursework in law enforcement or security
• Conflict resolution or de-escalation experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence across the campus
• Patrol facilities and monitoring building access
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and disturbances
• Control traffic and support special events as needed
• Operate surveillance systems and security equipment
• Write accurate incidents, accidents, and time log reports
• Assist employees and visitors while enforcing company policies
• Partner with local law enforcement and emergency responders
• Promote and participate in all required safety programs
