The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. Not only is customer service a part of their job description, as they are the first to greet visitors whoe into the facilities but so is handling confrontations and providing issue management and support. The variety of security and safety related tasks epass the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, providers and property, and they include responding to alarms, emergency requests, deescalation tactics, and resolving safety incidents. At times, it will be expected that Security Officers manage agitated or aggressive patients or visitors.
