About The Position

As a Security Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and residents through clear communication and respectful customer service. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and work as part of a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, with a caring culture that puts people first and always acts with integrity.

Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity and potential hazards.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting events, and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
Monitor access points and visitor flow, help to maintain orderly entry and exit, and report policy violations and/or concerning behavior to the appropriate personnel.
Complete detailed reports and daily logs, communicate shift handoff information, and support Allied Universal and site staff with security-related observations and follow-up actions.
