About The Position
Friends University is seeking to fill the part-time Security Officer position at our Wichita, Kansas Campus location. The Security Officer will provide security services for various shifts at Friends University; patrols campus and checks resident halls and other buildings; maintain safe parking conditions on campus. Work hours will be determined by the Director of Security, must be willing to work all shifts; additional hours may occasionally be requested. Some weekends/holidays possible. Qualifications Experience: Two years experience in security or related field is preferred. Must legally be able to carry a handgun that meets with the Friends University requirements and pass firearms qualification. Computer skills are necessary (Microsoft Office products desired). Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required. Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required for this position. A motor vehicle report will be run to verify insurability and to become an approved driver by the University’s insurance carrier.
