Requirements

Possess a minimum of three years combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
Hold a valid armed guard card or license as required by state, county, or city regulations.
Possess a valid New Jersey Retired Police Officer certificate if required by the role.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible presence.
Monitor for unusual or suspicious behaviors and report observations according to established protocols.
Assist with controlling access to restricted areas as required by site policy.
Collaborate with public officials, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner while performing security-related duties.
Complete required reports and documentation related to patrols, incidents, and/or observed activities.
Remain alert and attentive to surroundings while on duty to help to deter potential risks and support the security-related objectives of the location.
