Job Description As a Security Officer - Government Facility - Full Time in Bronx, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and help reduce security-related incidents through strong observation and communication. You will support access control by verifying badges and directing visitors, while delivering customer service to staff and the public. Requirements

  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location serving community residents and staff.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification as required, and directing visitors, vendors, and deliveries according to site protocols.
  • Complete detailed written reports and activity logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs to support continuity of operations.
