About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed - Government Facility in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to concerns. You will engage with the public and staff through clear communication and customer service, while documenting activity and supporting a reliable, agile team that acts with integrity and puts people first.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify suspicious conditions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and public law enforcement as needed.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, monitoring prohibited items guidance, and maintaining visitor and/or contractor logs per site requirements.
  • Prepare timely written reports and complete required documentation related to patrols, incidents, and use of authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies.
