About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a government transportation location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with calm, professional communication. You will document activity, assist staff and riders with directions and concerns, and contribute to a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and driven by integrity and a people-first culture.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government facility by following site-specific, security-related procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed patrol duties throughout buildings, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter prohibited activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local public partners as needed.
  • Monitor cameras, radios, and other communications systems, dispatching information and requesting assistance when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other documentation, and follow Allied Universal and site post orders related to use of force, equipment handling, and chain of command.
