Job Description As a Security Officer - Education Lobby Desk in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will create a welcoming first point of contact while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will monitor access, assist visitors, and respond to inquiries, all while delivering outstanding customer service. By maintaining a visible presence and utilizing technology, you will support a secure and positive environment for everyone entering the facility.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and guests by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
  • Monitor access to the location and verify identification as required.
  • Respond to incidents and/or critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Assist with visitor management, including logging and directing guests as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with all individuals at the location, addressing inquiries and providing information as appropriate.
  • Support emergency response activities at the front desk according to established protocols.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or concerns to appropriate personnel and Allied Universal management.
