Security Officer for Logistics Gate
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Secure Entry Desk in San Pedro, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will welcome drivers and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and maintain accurate logs. You will monitor cameras and conduct routine patrols to help identify and reduce security-related concerns, while providing clear communication and outstanding customer service. Requirements
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to onsite employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting badges, maintaining visitor and driver logs, and directing guests to the appropriate check-in areas.
- Monitor inbound and outbound activity including pedestrian traffic and vehicle movement, reporting irregular activity and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing accurate documentation and escalating concerns through the proper channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, loading dock areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or unusual activity.
