As a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will greet employees, contractors, and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and track badges and logs. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly when reporting concerns. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points at an industrial location, verifying identification, authorizations, and delivery documentation while helping to deter unauthorized access.
- Operate access control systems and maintain required visitor, vehicle, and contractor logs, issuing temporary credentials per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating notifications and documenting actions taken per site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, observing for irregular conditions and reporting concerns through established channels.
