As a Screener at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will greet visitors and staff, verify access, screen for prohibited items, and support orderly entry during peak activity. You will stay visible, conduct routine rounds nearby, document incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams to help reduce security-related issues. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and/or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen and process visitors, guests, and/or contractors using site access procedures, including verifying identification, checking appointments, and issuing temporary credentials as directed by site policy.
  • Support lobby and entry operations by greeting entrants, providing directions, answering routine questions, and escalating concerns to the appropriate site contact.
  • Monitor and control access points using security-related systems such as visitor management tools, access control platforms, and/or video surveillance as assigned.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services in accordance with post orders.
  • Conduct screening of packages, deliveries, and/or personal items in accordance with site policy, documenting exceptions and requesting guidance when needed.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports, incident reports, and/or access logs, maintaining accurate documentation and timely communication to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, gates, and/or entry controls within the assigned area to help identify irregularities such as unsecured access points or unauthorized persons.
  • Assist with special events, peak arrival periods, and/or client-requested screening operations by managing queues and coordinating orderly entry flow.
  • Follow established communication and escalation protocols, including radio, phone, and/or email notifications, to help support consistent security-related operations.
