As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and team members, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle entry, and monitor activity at key access points. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document concerns with clear communication. Requirements

  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at employee, visitor, and driver entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges and/or passes, maintaining visitor and delivery logs, and directing traffic flow to authorized areas.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other access control systems to help to deter unauthorized entry and to identify unusual activity, then document observations per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site management and/or emergency services as directed and completing incident reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, docks, and perimeter areas as assigned, checking doors, gates, and restricted zones for signs of unauthorized access.
