As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a healthcare location, you will welcome staff and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and monitor security-related activity with clear, professional communication. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following site-specific policies, access control procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control entry and exit at designated access points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
Monitor access control systems such as badge readers, door alarms, and intercoms, and report malfunctions, forced-door conditions, and other security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including suspicious behavior, trespassing, disruptive persons, and/or medical location disturbances, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related hazards or policy violations.
Provide assistance with directing visitors, managing queues at checkpoints, and supporting controlled access to sensitive areas such as clinical spaces, offices, and restricted storage areas.
Complete detailed, timely documentation of shift activity, access control actions, incidents, and observations using written reports and/or electronic reporting systems.
Work with client staff and emergency responders during alarms, evacuations, and other events by following post orders and established communication protocols.
