About The Position

As a Security Officer - DataCenter Patrol Driver in University Park, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a fast-paced tech campus, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and incident response. You will build strong relationships through customer service and clear communication, while living Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity. Valid driver’s license required per Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology, media, and/or telecommunications location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and coordinating with site contacts and/or public emergency services as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces and exterior perimeters, including offices, lobbies, loading areas, parking areas, and adjacent walkways as required by the post assignment.
Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying credentials, following visitor management processes, and directing guests to appropriate check-in locations.
Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations, and escalate concerns through the chain of command in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines and site instructions.
Complete detailed written and electronic reports such as daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs with accurate times, locations, and descriptions.
Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm panels when assigned, and report irregularities for follow-up.
Provide service-focused assistance such as answering questions, giving directions, and supporting orderly traffic flow for deliveries, rideshare pickups, and other site activity as needed.
Support emergency and non-emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and medical response by following site instructions and assisting with perimeter and/or access control.
Maintain a professional presence consistent with Allied Universal standards while performing assigned duties, participating in briefings, and completing required training.
