Security Officer - Warehouse Patrol Full Time
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Patrol in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support staff and visitors with customer service, document observations, and work as part of a team that values integrity, agility, reliability, innovation, and a caring people-first culture.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, associates, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail distribution location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting and documenting observations per Allied Universal and site guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and receiving areas, assisting with visitor, vendor, and driver check-in and/or direction as required by post orders.
- Observe and report hazards, suspicious behavior, and operational concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, escalating issues through the chain of command as needed.
