As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials such as TSA issued TWIC, issue badges, and manage entry and exit activity. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related issues, and communicate clearly with site teams. Requirements

  • Have security-related experience of 1+ years.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, credentials, and delivery documentation, and by directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic in accordance with site requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs of visitors, employees, and shipments, including issuing and collecting badges and/or passes as required by site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, unauthorized access attempts, and policy violations through the chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of gates, yards, docks, buildings, and perimeter areas, and report unusual activity, damage, and/or maintenance concerns.
