Job Description As a Security Officer - Walking Patrol in Virginia Beach, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech location as an unarmed patrol officer, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help support a secure environment. You will complete routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, manage access points as needed, and communicate clearly with employees, visitors, and partners. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of offices, common areas, loading and receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access control points and security-related systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, and visitor management tools, reporting irregularities per post orders.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports, communicate shift updates during post handoff, and support site operations by providing directions and general assistance when needed.
