About The Position

As a Security Officer - Visitor Checkpoint in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a higher education location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and support orderly visitor flow while maintaining a visible presence. You will conduct routine rounds, respond to security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with students, staff, and guests. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes per policy, and directing individuals to the appropriate destination.
  • Monitor alarms, access control systems, and/or camera views as assigned, documenting unusual activity and reporting concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus staff and/or public resources as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations.
