As a Security Officer - Visitor Checkpoint in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet team members and visitors, support access control and badge checks, and screen people and items as they enter. You will stay visible, communicate clearly, and document security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures and access screening requirements at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen incoming individuals, bags, and/or packages using approved screening methods and equipment, reporting prohibited items or irregularities per post orders.
• Verify identification, shipping paperwork, and/or visitor authorization, help to manage entry and exit flow, and document activity using logs and reporting tools.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying leadership and emergency services when appropriate.
• Support security-related operations by monitoring designated areas, maintaining professional presence at screening points, and completing required reports and communications.
