About The Position

As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, welcome shoppers and team members, and support a positive guest experience. You will complete routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and use clear communication to coordinate with on-site partners. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or appointments, issuing visitor credentials as directed, and directing foot traffic to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor alarms, access control panels, and/or CCTV systems when assigned, and report irregular activity per site-specific protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with onsite management and/or first responders.
  • Complete logs and required documentation such as visitor entries, incident reports, and daily activity reports, and communicate issues to Allied Universal supervision as needed.
