Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government location, where you will welcome visitors, verify identification and credentials, and conduct entry screening to support security-related protocols. You will monitor assigned areas, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and the public to help reduce incidents. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Have a guard card and/or license, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following site-specific procedures, access requirements, and security-related protocols.
  • Screen visitors, packages, and deliveries using approved methods and equipment such as magnetometers, hand wands, and X-ray systems; verify credentials and direct individuals to the proper entry points.
  • Monitor entry and screening areas for unusual activity, help to deter prohibited items, and maintain orderly flow through checkpoints while communicating expectations clearly.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, public spaces, and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
