Security Officer Vehicle Patrol Driver
About The Position
As a Security Officer Vehicle Patrol Driver in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will complete routine vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism and integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will support store teams and guests through clear communication, detailed reporting, and a caring, team-first approach aligned with Allied Universal values.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances and exits, stock areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor for suspicious behavior, potential theft activity, and policy violations, and communicate observations to store management and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting events, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency responders when directed.
- Complete incident reports and daily activity logs, provide clear verbal and written communication, and support access control by observing deliveries, vendor activity, and restricted areas as assigned.
