As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government utilities location, you will help support daily operations by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and responding to security-related concerns with professionalism and clear communication. This is a driving post that requires a valid driver’s license and compliance with AU driver policy requirements, offering variety as you move between assigned areas while delivering strong customer service.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government utility location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe assigned areas using security-related systems and visual observation, reporting irregular conditions such as unauthorized access attempts, damage, or suspicious behavior.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, document security-related incidents, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff to support continuity of operations.
