As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and document activity while maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, respond to requests, and support daily operations with strong customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific access control procedures, visitor management requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit points by verifying identification, authorizations, and delivery documentation, and maintaining access logs per client guidelines.
  • Operate access control systems such as badge readers, turnstiles, and gate controls, and report malfunctions, forced entries, and/or suspicious activity through established channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
  • Perform routine inspections of designated areas near access points and building entrances to help to deter unauthorized access, and complete required reports and shift handoff communications.
