As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, use computer and/or tablet tools to support site operations, and provide professional customer service through clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control access to buildings, yards, and restricted areas by verifying identification, managing visitor registration, and coordinating entry approvals with site contacts.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and communications systems; document and report unusual activity, damaged equipment, and/or operational concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with notifications, scene management, and/or directions for arriving responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, perimeter fencing, and equipment areas to help identify hazards, unauthorized activity, and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
