Job Description As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol - Full Time in Maidsville, WV , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will complete routine rounds across buildings and grounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document observations with clear, professional communication. You will greet employees and visitors with service-focused support, respond to reports, and collaborate with site teams to keep operations running smoothly. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of operational areas, buildings, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, monitoring entry and exit points, and supporting visitor and contractor processing per site procedures.
- Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, perform routine checks of gates, doors, and equipment areas, and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and/or site management.
