About The Position

As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol Full-Time in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol unique locations serving utilities and cultural institutions. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while you provide exceptional customer service and communication to visitors and staff. By remaining visible and approachable, you will contribute to a welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and its perimeter, both inside and outside, to help to deter unwanted activity and monitor for any unusual conditions.
Observe and report any security-related incidents or concerns encountered during patrols or while on post.
Assist visitors, staff, and/or the public with inquiries and directions as appropriate to the location, which may include outdoor spaces, cultural venues, or utility areas.
Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and site contacts to address security-related needs specific to the location.
