Job Description As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol in Akron, OH , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will interact with visitors and staff, provide exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly to support a secure environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance needs within the utilities environment.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, observations, and daily activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal personnel and client representatives to address security-related concerns.
  • Remain alert and observant while on duty, adapting to varying working environments and conditions as required by the site.
