As a Security Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with site teams and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges as directed, managing visitor logs, and directing deliveries and contractors to designated check-in areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including handling alarms, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance, and escalating notifications per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or tampering with utility-related equipment.
  • Complete detailed reports and documentation for patrols, incidents, and maintenance concerns, and communicate key updates during shift turnovers to support continuity of security-related operations.
