Job Description As a Security Officer - Utilities Access Control in Kennett Square, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor entrances, check credentials, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence will help maintain a secure environment while delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including access control measures for personnel and vehicles entering the location.
  • Monitor and control entry points to help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within the utilities environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to observe and report security-related concerns.
  • Assist visitors, contractors, and employees with access procedures and provide directions or information as needed.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activities, or hazards observed during patrols or while monitoring access points.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, coordinating with local authorities and Allied Universal management as required.
