Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific access control and security-related screening procedures at designated entry points.
  • Conduct screening of persons and belongings as required, which may include checking identification, managing visitor sign-in, inspecting bags and packages, and operating screening equipment per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate key details to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Document and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or unusual activity using required logs, incident reports, and established notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, such as entrances, lobbies, corridors, and perimeter zones, as directed by site procedures and staffing needs.
