About The Position

As a Security Officer - Chemical Plant Access in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a chemical or petrochemical location, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at chemical and petrochemical locations.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility, verifying credentials and authorizations in accordance with client site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Document and report any suspicious activity, equipment malfunctions, or security-related incidents as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to maintain a secure environment in accordance with industry regulations and client expectations.
