Job Description As a Security Officer - Perimeter Driver Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible, and help to deter security-related concerns while supporting students, faculty, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, common areas, residence hall exteriors, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate campus resources and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor access points and observe security-related conditions, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns through the required communication and documentation channels.
  • Complete routine reporting such as patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity summaries, and support special events and/or peak traffic periods as assigned.
